The Westpac Scholarship Program is an initiative of the Westpac Bicentennial Foundation. The Foundation is celebrating Westpac's 200th anniversary in 2017 with a $100 million gift to future generations of Australians. Scholarships are offered across a range of study and career levels. Last year, UQ was the most successful university in the inaugural Westpac Future Leaders Scholarships.

The scholarships centre around three focus areas which Westpac believes are at the heart of Australia's future growth and prosperity, and central to their own focus as an organisation:

  • Technology and innovation
  • Australia-Asia ties
  • Positive social change

The Westpac Bicentennial Foundation will hold an information session at UQ on three of their programs:

  • Asian Exchange Scholarship: The Westpac Asian Exchange Scholarship supports undergraduates eager to contribute to Australia’s success in Asia
  • Research Fellowship: The Westpac Research Fellowship supports early career researchers to undertake ground-breaking research, here in Australia
  • Future Leaders Scholarship: The Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship supports exceptional individuals to undertake postgraduate study at one of Australia's leading universities

For more information, visit the Westpac Bicentiennial Foundation website. Please note that these scholarships are only open to Australian citizens and permanent residents.
