UQ-JLU Research Symposium

Monday 15  – Tuesday 16 July 2019

The University of Queensland

UQ and Jilin University (JLU) share a strong vision to deliver world-class teaching and research outcomes that will create lasting positive change.

Recognising both universities’ research expertise, UQ and JLU aim to expand engagement into further disciplinary fields to support future joint research activities and student articulation programs.

Key themes

The joint research symposium will bring together researchers from a variety of disciplines, focusing on two key research themes

Future materials
Speakers in this theme will explore how new materials are opening the way for new industries and also helping solve some of humanity’s greatest challenges. They will present both fundamental research and practical applications on new materials that offer more sustainable solutions and are ushering in a new age for manufacturing.
Human horizons in the new technology era
Disruptive digital technologies are transforming the way that businesses, government and society interact with each other and their environments. This theme will explore both positive and negative impacts of these technologies, exciting opportunities and perplexing challenges and the resulting policy and regulatory considerations.
