In our increasingly globalised world, connectedness is vital for an institution such as UQ. Our Global Strategy positions us to become Australia’s most globally connected university, developing our international influence and maintaining our ranking as one of the world’s top 50 universities.
edX is the world’s leading consortium of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), jointly founded by Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). We are one of only two Australian universities included in the not-for-profit edX enterprise. UQx works with the University’s academic teaching staff to create and present a range of MOOCs through the edX platform.
We are one of only three Australian members of Universitas 21 a select international network of comprehensive, research-intensive universities committed to world-best quality and practice. The network’s purpose is to facilitate collaboration and cooperation between the member universities and to create opportunities for them on a scale that would otherwise not be possible, such as student exchanges, research conferences and summer schools.
Group of Eight
We are a founding member of the Group of Eight (Go8), a leading group of Australian universities. The Go8 has international alliances and agreements with Universities and research organisations in Brazil, China (with the C9 - China’s leading research-intensive universities), Chile, France, and Germany.
