Global Development Hub

Are you a UQ community member interested in global development work? Join UQ's Global Development Hub

The UQ Global Development (GD) Hub harnesses UQ’s wealth and diverse breadth of expertise to provide opportunities and solve challenges globally. Through the GD Hub, you can connect with a community of like-minded UQ academics, researchers, development practitioners and students across a range of disciplines, faculties and institutes who are either currently engaged in, or holding an interest in, global development work.

The GD Hub will be supported by academic theme leads across six key areas, as well as a Global Development Hub coordinator.  The UQ International Development team will also lend support to the Hub as needed with technical leadership, training and capacity building, management and research.

Our themes

As part of UQ's Global Development Impact Plan, we have identified six strategic themes which are relevant to development sector priorities. Explore our strengths in each of the areas listed below. 

Theme Leads

Global Development Theme Lead roles have been established to propel the implementation of the Global Development Impact Plan. 

We're recruiting Global Development Theme Leads

Working collaboratively across key themes, the Global Development Theme Leads will be passionate about global development and build collaboration across UQ, lead activities that secure funded global development projects and support International Development business development and project activities. These roles will be recruiting for the themes; agriculture; health; governance and public policy; energy and resources; and innovation and entrepreneurship.

The UQ Global Development Hub supports the implementation of UQ’s global development objectives as outlined in UQ's Global Development Impact Plan.
