Latin American Colloquium, Thursday 15 October 2015, The University of Queensland

Powering Future Economic Development: Australia and Latin American Partnerships and Innovation

A pivotal forum on Australia–Latin America relations with Latin America's Ambassadors to Australia, government representatives, business leaders and researchers

The University of Queensland, with support from the Council on Australia Latin America Relations (COALAR), hosted the Latin America Colloquium on Thursday, 15 October 2015.

With an overarching theme of Powering Future Economic Development: Australia and Latin American Partnerships and Innovation, the 2015 colloquium sought to expand the successful UQ initiative to a national forum that encourages broader discussion on the role and impact of Australian and Latin American relations and innovation.

The colloquium sessions were future-focussed and explored the relationships, resources and mechanisms required to re-position the dialogue and connections between Australia and Latin America to prepare for the key challenges and opportunities likely to emerge over the next 5 to 10 years.

The colloquium featured a full day program with high level keynote speakers, concurrent sessions to unpack the subthemes, and a final panel discussion on the way forward.
