Keynote speaker

Keren Elazari

Keren Elazari is an internationally recognised security analyst, researcher, writer and speaker. Since 2000, Keren has worked with leading Israeli security firms, government organisations, Big Four and Fortune 500 companies. Keren covers emerging security technologies as an independent strategic analyst and advisor. In 2014, Keren became the first Israeli woman to speak at the prestigious TED Conference. Keren is currently a senior researcher at the Interdisciplinary Cyber Research Center at Tel Aviv University.


Our panel

Associate Professor John Williams is the Deputy Director of UQ Cyber Security and Associate Professor for the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at UQ. He has authored five refereed journal publications, and more than 20 refereed conference publications, and recently edited the proceedings of the 2004 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) International Conference on Field Programmable Technology. Associate Professor Williams will be the event moderator. 

Paul Twomey is the CEO of Biosecurity Systems, an infection minimisation solutions company. He founded Argo P@cific, a cyber security consulting firm for governments and Fortune 500 companies worldwide, and co-founded Stash, the datacentric security company. Paul is a founding figure and former CEO of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. He was formerly the CEO of the Australian government’s National Office for the Information Economy and the federal government’s special adviser for the information economy and technology.

Robert Champion has 30 years’ experience in Queensland Government Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and has been the Queensland Government Chief Information Security Officer (GCISO) since 2018. He has been a motivating force in government cyber security, helping prepare for events such as G20 Leaders’ meetings and the Commonwealth Games.

Our keynote speaker, Keren Elazari will also join the panel discussion.
