As part of the Global Strategy and Partnerships Team, our Global Network provides in-country specialist support for engagement initiatives.

Our country representatives build close links with industry, institutional partners, government and alumni, support executive missions, and identify strategic areas of funding overseas.

North America

Based in Washington D.C., the UQ North America Office can provide strategic advice and assistance to UQ staff and academics who wish to broaden or deepen their engagement in North America. If you are planning on travelling to the USA or Canada, the UQ North America team can offer an array of services to value-add to your trip. Please register your travel so the team can best meet your needs.

The UQ North America Office can assist you by:

  • Organising meetings and/or visits with key institutions, foundations, corporations and government agencies in the USA and Canada.
  • Providing advice and intelligence on UQ’s strategic priorities and partners in North America.
  • Identifying strategic areas of funding, and assisting with submitting proposals to US funding organisations on behalf of UQ faculty and staff.
  • Supporting UQ student and faculty mobility by providing information on funding and mobility schemes.
  • Promoting UQ Faculty, School and Institute activities to a key audience of alumni, friends and partners in North America through online media channels.
  • Providing logistical support and coordination for UQ executive missions to the USA and Canada.

Indonesia

Based in the Jakarta CBD, the UQ Indonesia Office fosters engagement with Indonesian universities, government agencies, corporate networks and non-governmental organisations, builds UQ's profile and supports UQ's alumni in the region.

The UQ Indonesia Office can can assist you by:

  • Providing intelligence on UQ's strategic priorities and partners in Indonesia.
  • Identifying strategic areas of funding and assisting with submitting proposals to Indonesian organisations.
  • Promoting and facilitating student mobility.
  • Identifying suitable contacts and organising visits in Indonesia.
  • Providing language and cultural support.
  • Maintaining regular contact with key stakeholders in Indonesia.
  • Providing logistical and coordination support for executive missions to Indonesia.

Ms Ratu Sovi Arinta is our Chief Representative in Indonesia.

Latin America

UQ has a Global Engagement/Institute of Continuing & TESOL Education (ICTE-UQ) Representative based in Santiago, Chile, to develop and advance relationships and strategic projects in Latin America.

The UQ Latin America Representative can assist you by:

  • Providing strategic advice on UQ's priorities and partners in Latin America.
  • Further developing initiatives in capacity-building, research, and training related opportunities.   
  • Enhancing UQ’s partnerships in the region with education institutions, local government, industry, scholarship bodies, UQ alumni and Australian Government agencies.
  • Identifying new opportunities for UQ in Latin America.
  • Providing logistical and coordination support for executive missions to Latin America.

Ms Carolina Rasse is our Latin America representative.

Vietnam

UQ has a Global Engagement/Institute of Continuing & TESOL Education (ICTE-UQ) Representative based in Hanoi, Vietnam, with the aim of raising UQ's profile with the Vietnamese Government and partner institutions and further developing business and research collaboration.

The UQ Vietnam Representative can assist you by:

  • Providing advice and intelligence on UQ’s strategic priorities and partners in Vietnam.
  • Identifying strategic areas of funding, and assist with submitting proposals to Australian Government and Vietnamese organisations on behalf of faculty and staff.
  • Identifying suitable contacts in the government agencies, institutions and corporations and organising visits in Vietnam.
  • Promoting and facilitating student mobility.
  • Providing support to develop business and academic collaboration opportunities with key partners in Vietnam.
  • Providing language and cultural support.
  • Maintaining regular contact with key stakeholders in Vietnam.
  • Providing logistical and coordination support for executive missions to Vietnam.
